Terms of Service

1. The Service

Hero Edge is a Dota 2 companion app that provides draft analysis, hero matchup guidance, itemization support, patch context, meta insights, and related gameplay tools. Hero Edge is informational only. It does not play the game for you, modify Dota 2, or guarantee match outcomes.

We may update, add, remove, suspend, or limit features at any time, including free-tier allowances, paid-tier limits, supported regions, integrations, and AI model behavior.

2. Accounts and eligibility

• You must be at least 13 years old, or older if required by your local law, to use Hero Edge.
• You are responsible for keeping your sign-in method and device secure.
• You must provide accurate account information and keep it current.
• You are responsible for all activity that happens through your account.

We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms, create security risk, abuse rate limits, or interfere with the Service.

3. Steam linking and game data

If you choose to link Steam, Hero Edge uses Steam OpenID and public game-data APIs to personalize features such as hero pools, bracket-aware guidance, post-match context, and patch alerts. We never ask for or store your Steam password.

Steam-linked features depend on third-party availability and public match-history access. If your Steam profile or match history is private, unavailable, rate-limited, or returns incomplete data, some Hero Edge features may be limited or require manual input.

You can unlink Steam in the app. Account deletion removes your active Steam binding and related cached data as described in our Privacy Policy.

4. Subscriptions and billing

Hero Edge may offer free, trial, premium, and pro tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed by the app store where you purchased them, such as Apple App Store or Google Play. Prices, renewal terms, trial availability, taxes, and refund rights are shown at checkout.

• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through the relevant store before renewal.
• Deleting your Hero Edge account or uninstalling the app does not automatically cancel an app-store subscription.
• Refunds are handled by the app store that processed the purchase, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
• We may change plan features or pricing. Material changes will be communicated where required.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or disrupt Hero Edge or its infrastructure.
• Bypass subscription, usage, entitlement, rate-limit, security, or anti-abuse controls.
• Use Hero Edge to violate game rules, platform rules, laws, or third-party rights.
• Upload or transmit malicious code, abusive content, illegal content, or data you do not have rights to use.
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit Hero Edge without written permission.

6. AI-assisted recommendations

Some Hero Edge features use AI or automated analysis. Recommendations may be incomplete, outdated, inaccurate, or unsuitable for a specific match. Dota 2 changes frequently, and player skill, communication, patch changes, drafts, and execution affect outcomes.

You are responsible for your own gameplay decisions. Hero Edge is a companion tool, not a guarantee of rank gain, win rate, income, tournament performance, or coaching results.

7. Ownership and licenses

Hero Edge, including its app design, code, branding, content, recommendations, interfaces, and systems, is owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Hero Edge for personal, non-commercial use in accordance with these Terms.

You keep ownership of content or information you submit, but you grant us the rights needed to host, process, analyze, display, and use it to provide and improve the Service.

8. Third-party services

Hero Edge may rely on services such as Firebase, RevenueCat, Apple App Store, Google Play, Steam, OpenDota, STRATZ, analytics, crash reporting, and AI providers. Your use of those services may be governed by their own terms and policies.

Hero Edge is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Valve Corporation. Dota 2, Steam, and related marks are property of their respective owners.

9. Disclaimers and limits

Hero Edge is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, and error-free operation.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Hero Edge and its team will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or lost-profit damages, or for losses caused by third-party outages, platform changes, data delays, or gameplay results.

10. Termination

You may stop using Hero Edge at any time. You may delete your account in the app or through our account deletion page. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or create risk for users, the Service, or third parties.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. When changes are material, we will update the "Last updated" date and provide notice where required. Continued use of Hero Edge after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
